What's a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your browser, which lets the site remember things between visits — your language preference, whether you're logged in, whether you've already dismissed a notice. localStorage is a similar mechanism that stores small amounts of data directly in the browser without being sent to the server.

We use one localStorage item for the cookie-banner choice, plus an opt-in analytics cookie. No tracking pixels, no third-party advertising cookies, no Facebook Pixel, no Google Tag Manager.

Essential — always on

  • tsc_cookie_consent_v1 — localStorage, stored on your browser, contains your cookie-banner choice ({essential, analytics, marketing} booleans and a timestamp). Lasts twelve (12) months. Required so we don't show you the banner again every page load.

This essential item is set without requiring your consent because, under the ePrivacy Directive, it is strictly necessary to provide the service you have explicitly requested (the cookie preference itself).

Analytics — opt-in only

  • Plausible Analytics — Estonian-based, EU data residency, sets no client-side cookies and does not track you across sites. We get anonymous page-view counts per URL with no personal identifier. This loads only if you click "Accept all" or check the Analytics box in the banner preferences.

Plausible's privacy policy is at plausible.io/privacy and they do not use the data they process on our behalf for any other purpose. Plausible is GDPR-compliant by design.

Marketing — off by default

We do not currently run any marketing cookies. The "Marketing" toggle in the cookie banner exists in case we ever add a click-tracking pixel for a paid-ad campaign — it defaults to off, and unless you explicitly enable it, no marketing-cookie load happens.

How to manage your preferences

Three ways:

  • On this site — clear your browser's localStorage for dublincattering.com and the banner will appear again on the next page load
  • In your browser — most browsers let you delete cookies and localStorage in Settings → Privacy → Site Data. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this.
  • By email — write to hello@dublincattering.com with "COOKIES" in the subject line. We can confirm what's on file (which is very little) and how to remove it.
